My daughter is turning 4 this month and we are celebrating this year with a mermaid party! She loves Ariel from The Little Mermaid and chose the theme herself. It was fun creating the invitation, and it's even more fun planning the party! I'll be sure to post the pictures after we have the party. In the meantime, if you are thinking of having a mermaid party yourself, you can purchase this invitation in our shop or check out some of our ideas on our Pinterest board.

Baking Party Apron Invitations
Wednesday, March 12, 2014
These are some invitations I made a while ago for a baking party for a sweet 6 year old. They are in the shape of an apron and the invitation details are inside the pocket of the apron. I like how the invitation details also remind me of a cookie.
The giveaway for this party was a white apron. To make them a bit more colorful, I printed out the same design as the invitation onto iron-on transfer paper and transferred it to the apron. I also made some party circles and glued them onto cupcake liners to make a small "flower" that could be pinned to the aprons. That way, once the party was over, the kids could just take off the pin and have a cute apron that they could use all the time.
I think this is a really sweet idea for a party. And it is relatively easy to organize if you wanted to have it at home. The party activities will involve baking and decorating cakes and cookies, so you don't have to do much baking yourself beforehand. Once you have all of your sprinkles and chocolate out on the table for the kids to use, it will already look festive, so you don't need to have much in terms of decorations. I think all you would need to have is a birthday banner and some cute tableware to match. This would also be a great idea for an Easter party, a playdate or an afternoon activity with your own kids. If you have a child that loves baking, this would be so much fun for them!

New Printable Collection :: Red, White & Blue Party
Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Glee had an episode where the whole group sang a song while they were synchronized swimming. The girls wore these adorable red, white and blue swimsuits with white flowers in their hair. I loved the styling of that part so much, it inspired me to create this collection. I think it would be perfect for a 4th of July party, a nautical party, or a french-inspired party or baby shower.
I was lucky enough to have a great location to photograph it. The location is in the south of France in a small town close to St. Tropez and was taken at a gorgeous private residence. Being in France also made it easy to get the beautiful desserts that are shown here. They sell a large selection of beautiful desserts in the regular supermarket. It was difficult to pick just a few!

Forest Party Invitation
Wednesday, April 18, 2012
A friend of mine had her son's birthday party at the animal park in Langenberg, which is just outside of Zurich. It's a great location in the forest where you can take hikes and observe animals in their natural environment. I volunteered to make the invitations for her. I used cute animals and trees to go with the forest theme. And if the party was being held in the summer, then I would have drawn in some leaves, but since it was in February, I thought the bare trees were appropriate. The envelopes were white with a brown gingham pattern that I made as the lining. Each envelope was then closed with a sticker that had one of the animals on the invitation. I also made favor tags that were hung on brown paper bags (perfect for a forest party!).They had the same animals on them that the children received on their invitation and they could identify which bag was theirs by the animal.
I thought it was a great idea to bring the kids to the animal park. They got to be outside in the fresh air and learn about the animals that they saw from the guide that took them around the park. I think the highlight for my daughter was seeing the wild boars, since she had been learning about them in school!

Sneak Peek :: Indoor Camping Party
Tuesday, March 20, 2012
The invitations are going out today and I am so excited to share what I have been working on. My daughter is turning eight and wanted a camping party. She's never been camping before but we just bought a tent with the hopes of going sometime this year. Ever since she saw the tent, and set it up in her grandparent's backyard, she's been wanting a camping party. Because we live in Switzerland, where the weather is very unpredictable at this time of year and we live in an apartment without a backyard, we decided to have an indoor camping party. We'll make s'mores, go on a scavenger hunt, and play flashlight tag. She'll even get to have a few of her friends sleep over in a tent in the living room. I've been having a lot of fun working on the decorations for this and hope the party is just as fun for the kids. Come back soon to see the results!

Movie Party Invitation
Wednesday, March 14, 2012
A friend of mine asked me to design the invitation for her daughter's birthday party last January. Her daughter was turning seven and she was going to take a few of her friends to the movies.
Each friend received the popcorn envelope above with their "ticket" inside inviting them to join her for an afternoon at the cinema.
An easy party for parents and so much fun for the girls. After all, who doesn't like going to the movies?
